First stop: Olvera, the gateway to the White Villages
We begin our route in Olvera, one of the most representative villages of the White Villages Route and known as the gateway to this spectacular region. Located on top of a hill, Olvera offers a breathtaking panoramic view that will leave you speechless. The village is a labyrinth of cobbled streets, flanked by whitewashed houses that shine under the Andalusian sun.

One of the highlights of Olvera is its imposing Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, which dominates the skyline with its majestic architecture. Right next door, you'll find the Arab Castle, a 12th-century fortress that offers spectacular views of the surrounding area, allowing you to take in the vast landscape of the Sierra de Cádiz.
Olvera is also famous for its Vía Verde de la Sierra, an old railway line converted into an ecological trail that stretches for 36 kilometres, ideal for hiking and cycling enthusiasts.

About 30 minutes from Olvera, you will find Zahara de la Sierra, a village that seems straight out of a fairy tale. Located on top of a hill and surrounded by the Zahara-El Gastor reservoir, this village offers panoramic views that will take your breath away. Zahara de la Sierra is famous for its Nasrid Castle, which crowns the village and from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.
Walking through Zahara is an experience in itself. Its narrow, steep streets, full of flowers and balconies, will lead you to the Plaza Mayor, where you can enjoy a moment of relaxation in one of its outdoor cafes.
You cannot leave Zahara de la Sierra without trying its local specialties, such as traditional oil cakes and Iberian pork products, which are a delight for the palate.

Here, you will find bars and restaurants offering the best of local cuisine, where you can enjoy typical dishes such as chorizo al infierno and migas.
In addition, Setenil de las Bodegas has a rich historical heritage, including the Church of the Encarnación, which dates back to the 15th century and combines Gothic and Mudejar elements, reflecting the rich cultural history of the town.
